Tales from a Backyard Buddhist

Friday 24 April, at 17:00 – 18:30 (EEST / Helsinki time). At Buddhist Center Sampo Helsinki and online on Zoom.

This is a special event with Venerable nun Thubten Dechen. A Dharma practitioner for over 35 years, and an ordained nun in the Tibetan Gelug tradition for 7 years, she shares her experience and answers our questions on life, practice and the Dharma.

Here’s how she describes her own journey: “I was introduced to Buddhism when I was going through a difficult time. I felt I was given a key to happiness. It saved my life. I have been practicing Buddhist techniques, going to teachings, and doing retreats for 35+ years. My Guru, Kyabje Zopa Rinpoche encouraged me to ordain. This has been a precious blessing and I will soon be celebrating 7 years of being a nun. I’m looking forward to meeting you and sharing my humble experiences as a ‘backyard’ Buddhist.”
